Prevalence of chronic apical periodontitis during the Covid-19 pandemic period at Dental Hospital of Hasanuddin University: intraoral radiographic study

Apical periodontitis is primarily a consequences of root canal infection, be marked with inflammation and tissue destruction pe-riradiculars resulting from interactions between microbial factors the host immune response. This study aimed to evalu-ate prevalence chronic apical (CAP) inpatients Hasanuddin University Dental Oral Education Hospital during Covid-19 pandemic period in 2021. The was conducted cross-sectional design. Secondary data form accumulation number patients who came undergo radiographic examination aged over 12 yearswere then grouped into CAP non-CAP. Data were analyzed chi square test performed assess relationship gender age (p<0.05). A total 222 obtained, which 54% women. samples expe-rienced 33.3% thelargest group 21-30 years (29.7%). There no significant difference (p>0.05), but there depends on dental condi-tion are not treated.
